Norman Finkelstein in Defense
of Resistance Against Occupation

http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/1676.htm

Norm declares the French Revolution a myth and I have to agree with his assessment of who is remembered with honor and who is remembered, with regret.

Good clip. (Of course MEMRItv can go to hell.) I tend to agree when he says that a major Israeli defeat must happen in order for a just political solution to have a chance. The Lebanese resistance will never be defeated.

Yes, Norman Finkelstein is a brilliant rhetorician and has obviously borrowed some ideas from al Moqawama itself. The key to the idea of "truth" is that anyone who knows the truth of something will sound like anyone else who knows about it. Therefore, he doesn't have to be a "Shia" to understand the actual truth of Nasrallah's mission, statements and policies in regards to war.

As far as the "politics", he verbalizes something that people who do not understand the underlying premises of secularism and the sacred i.e. that what is for the Lebanese is not his concern. I get frustrated when the media says Iran backs so and so, or Syria supports this fella when in fact, those who back the truth don't need a country. A country is where we live and have rights and obligations. The state of "mind" however called the truth is universal and is applied in whatever sociological condition because Islam and the truth of that natural emanation of the creation itself, can be found in all places to varying degrees. From the society in which justice is prevalent (are there any right now?) to the societies where justice has been trampled on and ignored by the oppressors.

Memri...well. I imagine they think that people cannot read through the lines but fact of the matter is, the truth has a bias upon itself and it cannot be exchanged for the lie no matter how hard they try to manipulate the details.

Peace on you and thanks for your comment.
