Anyways, I finally met Alice Notley. She read my favorite poem One of the Longest Times just as one of my very dear Laundry Hill siblings is going to go in for a bit of non elective and perhaps life saving surgery. So, it was great but all in all, it was somewhat of a let down in the context of knowing no one but RAP knows what I'm talking about and why the tears just poured out when it got to the part about this stick is 'little sister" and this stick is "you".
