The Beneficent
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

The Beneficent God,
Taught the Quran.
He created man,
Taught him the mode of expression.
The sun and the moon follow a reckoning.
And the herbs and the trees do adore (Him).
And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance
That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure.
And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient.
And the earth, He has set it for living creatures;
Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters,
And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance.
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels,
And He created the jinn of a flame of fire.
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
Lord of the East and Lord of the West.
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together:
Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass.
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

There come forth from them pearls, both large and small.

Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains.

Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

Everyone on it must pass away.

And there will endure for ever the person of your Lord, the Lord of glory and honor.
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

All those who are in the heavens and the earth ask of Him; every moment He is in a state (of glory).

Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

Soon will We apply Ourselves to you, O you two armies.

Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
O assembly of the jinn and the men! If you are able to pass through the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass through; you cannot pass through but with authority.

Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

Ode to the Dog Tick

Never was a parable so small,
so blood filled as the legend
of the dog tick. Out in the garden
where butterflies tarry

and startle, those
who have shadows
meander by.
Remember when they

began one miracle
and another? It was
twenty-seven cacoons
resurrecting. Oh yes!
we were eating
our break-fasts. Woke up and just
started eating. All the noises

of the world rewinding
but not like the sound of a tick
as it burns and snaps

in the ashtray
as he moves on.
Burn tick burn, bother not the dog.

Leave behind your treasure.
We wait for the return,
the one on the wind, one

past the famine-filled graves.
Allah Kareem, the Most Generous.
Allah the Most Merciful and Wise.
The tick fasts and gorges and dies.

We only watch a while
as we wait and prepare
for the parable lives on.

Ode to the Two Pointers

Hanging up there between our clothes line
and theirs, a hand could borrow sugar
from our open windows, that close,
a two-pointer hung by the haunches, eyes all froze.
We came home running to see what was shot,
heard it all the way down by Old Man Riley's garage,
a two pointer, not a doe. Everyone heard it.
It was big news, big game and there he was,
hanging over the squash and winter iris
looking out like that, just looking.
A pressure cooker steamed inside
the kitchen window, it tooted and hissed
while he dangled there waiting to be divided.
Takes a long time to cut up a deer like that,
and longer still, to bag one.
Times were pretty lean, the winters pretty cold.
La ilaha ilalah, this in the fortress of plenty.

Victory and Time
Witnessing the gradual demise of the rogue state once known as "Israel"

Israel WILL be giving back the Golan Heights whether she likes it or not. How long before that happens? Well, as these things go...Israel is an entrenched and bitter enemy. It is an enemy that Hezbollah leader Nasrallah always speaks highly of i.e. that they do not forget their dead soldiers, their prisoners of war nor do they lose sight of their cause. The fact that Israel and its supporters believe that those two sentiments are the right only of "their" type of people (ethnocentristic and xenophobic as it is) matters not to Nasrallah and the rest of us "Shia". The fact that their cause i.e. a state solely for one ethnic group is an evil one does matter because Allah doesn't like those types of causes. Period.

Israel's goal since it's inception was based on the notoriously bigoted views of Theodor Herzl and David Ben Gurion. Both of them spewed outrageous amounts and types of hatred towards Arabs. The entire state of Israel was based on their disgusting rhetoric and rationale. Hordes of people have been brainwashed over the past half of a century into believing it. Boggles my mind as to exactly how anyone could allow themself to be so obviously misled. But it does indicate to me the truth about all people.

Some people LIE and some just LIKE THE LIE. The two are relatively equal in my book. And then of course there are the others that feign ignorance yet...yet...they pose as such viable and intelligent creatures to other people. I'm not really sure which group I dislike more. There are so many moral facets to that little grouping of individuals and really, out of the four types of people...every person in this world is in at least ONE of those categories. The fourth group is composed of those who tell the truth and know what it looks like and they never exchange truth for the lie.

Truth, being what it is, isn't something else. Truth is not a multiple choice question. It is most naturally true or false. When writing one of those types of questions, the teacher cannot substitute ten different options for "truth". The only option in which there exists five or six squillion types of responses is the category called falsehood. This simple notion....is simple. It is so simple yet so many have chosen the wrong answer.

Israel versus Syria

"Damascus says it has received Israeli commitments for a full withdrawal from the occupied-Golan Heights, the main sticking point in previous talks.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has carefully avoided mentioning the Golan but has drawn fire after hinting that Israel would have to pay a painful price for a peace accord.

The strategic Golan plateau was seized by Israel in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war and annexed in 1981 in a move never recognised internationally. "

How to Interpret Divine Victories
Accomplished by the followers of the Ahl Bayt (the household of the prophet Mohamed and his twelve successful and successive Imams, may Allah shower them with blessings and mercy):

http://www.al-islam.org/gallery/kids/Books/companion9/7.htm

The technique utilized in this instance during the past week in Lebanon is something I call, "The Euphrates Doctrine" or....I guess you could call it "Enough is Enough". Following is a well known excerpt from the battle diaries which are collected in the Peak of Eloquence (a must read for those who crave real knowledge about Islam, the Quran, Sectarianism, Truth and Justice):

The Battle of Siffeen

The Imam chose the good persons to rule the cities. So, he appointed Malik al Ashtar ruler over Mousal, Sinjar, Naseebeen, Heet, and Anat. They are areas on the borders of Shaam.

Mu'awiyah disobeyed the Caliph. He became a dictator in Shaam.

The Imam tried to persuade Mu'awiyah to obey him. He sent him several letters, sent some delegates to talk with him. But all the Imam's efforts were in vain.

Thus the Imam formed an army and gave its leadership to Malik al-Ashtar.

The army advanced towards Shaam. It arrived in Kirkeesya, where it clashed with the Shamian Army headed by Abi al-Awar al-Salmy.

Malik al-Ashtar tried to persuade the leader of the army to end the mutiny and to obey Amirul Mu'mineen, but he refused.

At night, the Shamian Army took advantage of time and launched a surprise attack. That action was contrary to the religion and politeness because the two parties were in negotiations.

The Caliph's Army resisted the surprising attack. It killed and wounded many attackers and forced the others to withdraw to their original places.

Again Malik al-Ashtar showed his bravery. He sent a man to Abi al-Awar to invite him to duel with swords.

The man said:

Abi al-Awar, Malik al-Ashtar is inviting you to duel with him!

The leader of Mu'awiyah's Army became afraid and with cowardice said:

I don't want to duel with him!

Mu'awiyah headed a big army to join the Shamian Army.

The two armies met in the plain of Siffeen on the banks of the Euphrates.

Some units of Mu'awiyah's Army occupied the banks and besieged the river.

That action was also contrary to the laws of Islam and the laws of war.

The Imam sent Sasaah bin Suhan, one of the companions of the Prophet [s], to Mu'awiyah to talk with him.

Sasaah came into Mu'awiyah's tent and said:

Mu'awiyah, Ali says:

"Let's take some water. Then we'll decide what's between you and us, otherwise we will fight each other till the victor drinks."

Mu'awiyah kept silent and said:

I'll answer you later on.

The Imam's representative went out. Mu'awiyah asked the advice of some men. So al-Waleed said with spite:

Prevent them from drinking water to force them to surrender.

They agreed on this opinion.

Mu'awiyah gathered all the evil persons around him. They violated the laws of Islam and of human rights.

Malik al-Ashtar was watching the military movements on the river banks. He saw military supplies. So, he realized that Mu'awiyah would tighten the siege.

The Imam's soldiers became thirsty. Malik became thirsty, too. So, a soldier said to him:

There's only little water in my water-skin, please drink it.

Malik refused that and said:

I won't drink till all soldiers drink!

Malik went to the Imam and said:

Amirul Mu'mineen, our soldiers are very thirsty. We've nothing but fighting.

The Imam answered:

Yes.

The Imam gave the soldiers a speech and urged them to fight bravely.

Then he said:

Death is that man is pleased with abasement. And life is that man who dies and becomes a martyr.

Malik led the first attack at the Battle of Siffeen. And he began fighting bravely. So, he advanced towards the banks of the Euphrates.

After violent clashes, Malik could recapture the river banks and force Mu'awiyah's Army to withdraw.

Mu'awiyah's Army became far from water. So, they thought of a trick to recapture its places on the River Euphrates.

On the following day, an arrow fell among the Imam's soldiers. There was a letter tied to the arrow. The soldiers read the letter carefully. They passed on the news quickly to each other. The news was:

From a loyal brother in the Shamian Army, Mu'awiyah is going to open the river to drown you. So, be careful!

The soldiers believed the news and withdrew. The Shamian Army took advantage of the situation and recaptured the river banks.

But the Imam's Army launched a general attack and dismissed the Shamian Army from the region.

Mu'awiyah was so worried that he asked Amru bin al-Aas:

Do you think Ali will prevent us from drinking water?

Amru bin al-Aas answered:

Ali doesn't do as you do!

The Shamian soldiers were worried, too. Immediately, the soldiers heard that Imam Ali [a] allowed them to come to the river to drink water.

Some people from Shaam realized the difference between Mu'awiyah and Ali. Mu'awiyah did every evil action for victory. But Ali did not think about that at all. He conformed to the human, good, ideal behaviour.

Thus, the soldiers of the Shamian Army left Mu'awiyah's front secretly at night. They joined Ali's front because it was always representing truth and humanity.

For the past two years, ever since the assault on Lebanon which was carried out by Israel, the US and it's cronies inside of Lebanon, Hezbollah has been encamped in the downtown area. They camped there peacefully and this week they demobilized and left the area planted with flowers. They didn't leave a shred of garbage behind. Because, the Shia are a different sort of animal. One that everyone should become familiar with because they are the successful. There is no doubt about it anymore for those with knowledge.

Enough is enough.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080521/ap_on_re_mi_ea/lebanon_who_won

The second possible brake is the fact that Hezbollah is now compelled to work within Lebanon's government, rather than against it, in a country with a multitude of sects and shifting alliances.

It is almost impossible for any one group to dominate such a diverse country, as foreign invaders or occupiers over the centuries have learned. That could force Hezbollah to compromise with other Lebanese factions not eager for another war with Israel.

Yet the same deal that gave Hezbollah a veto over unfriendly government actions also set up a new electoral system likely to give its allies a bigger chunk of parliamentary seats.

Hezbollah spokesman Ghassan Darwish said after the deal was announced: "We are now strongly participating in the country's decision-making, after having been kept away from participation."

Now...let me elaborate. Hezbollah is clearly the winner. It IS possible for one group to lead the others to success. It is a myth that the media spreads which tells people "you cannot beat an oppressor". It is a blatant lie. This is not the first clear victory for the followers of Ahl Bayt (the household of the Prophet Mohamed, peace and blessings upon them all) and it is not the last one either. It is a divine victory for the whole of Lebanon.

Solideire stocks which were meandering well below the pre-Hariri assassination HIGHS are now at 37 dollars a share. This is after a split before Hariri was assassinated (by pro Israel/US operatives inside of Lebanon) which doubled shareholders stakes in the enigmatic downtown reconstruction efforts which were created by Rafic Hariri himself. Solideire stocks are the weather vane of economic cheer inside of Lebanon as well as outside. Observers might be surprised to know that even though Lebanon has suffered seemingly insurmountable odds created when Israel tried to ethnically cleanse Lebanon of Shia by totally destroying the infrastructure of the country using American weaponry and diplomatic cover in 2006, property values there did not decrease. They practically doubled.

Hezbollah was not "kept" out of anything. These types of SPUN stories mislead readers. Hezbollah kept itself out of political brokering with US supported lackeys like Fouad Siniora (pathetic helper of Israel and the US), Walid Jumblatt (liar, hypocrit and King Hussein wannabe who was photographed on a Harley wearing jeans just prior to his meetings with Cheney and Co.) and the notoriously idiotic son of Rafic Hariri (Ivy-league educated plaything of the Saudi dynasty who is well known for his drunkeness and druggery). Nasrallah refused to broker deals with known culprits and liars. Why on earth would he cooperate with evil doers? Ludicrous! The old myth of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" is so wrong. THEY can be beat. Absolutely. Evil people can not only be beat but they WILL be beat.

And then, beat again when they enter the gates of hell accompanying each other.

Israel is a clear loser. And what does anyone expect from that sort of thing...something good? Israel can never amount to anything good. Except that it will serve as a reminder to nations in the future of what not to do and especially, who not to do it to.

Come to success. Come to Islam.

The Believers (Proof 23, The Glorious Qu'ran)

Successful indeed are the believers,
Then as for him whose good deeds are preponderant, these are the successful.
And whoever invokes with Allah another god-- he has no proof of this-- his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be successful.

THE LONGER FARTHER

The poem that got him into heaven
with apologies to Whitman, I think.
It spoke of a desert watering hole
all God's creatures crying
the same way, a manzanita bush.
He must have eye watered while he wrote it
laughed when it was published in the local rag.
He must have laughed. Not loved either
but published finally. His life story
on the front page, with apologies:
Lili Marlene, the frozen toes of Aleutia,
the family part of mining.
Part one concludes.

II

Here is the day he was discharged
honorably from eight years of his life,
a wallet sized picture of a road grader in microfiche.

III

This is the time he leapt
like the elk over the Impala at Tonto,
my body waiting below in the gully for transport
between my sister's big breasts under
a Catholic style shirt front, she held me in c-spine.
Those were good times: a father saving a daughter,
a sister to lean on, a hospital to go to.

IV

He kept the nuts and bolts out back,
jar lids screwed to the bottoms of cupboards,
nailed the latch back into place on the back door
which was broken from the banging.
He fixed the washer with his specs
perched low on his nose,
his eyes peeking over them and shining.

V

Right there above his protruding celtic brow
was a perfect hole - a focal point

and in his casket
I noticed it was as it always was.
The snapshot of his dead body is in the album.

VI

She came for a spell to sit at the dinner table
tell stories with certain embellishments.
His mother had an ax to grind:
grandpa's mistress out in the valley,
some other children named the Driggers, distant cousins.
How mean grandma got over that.
She liked to hit us with her crutch

and loved to play solitaire on the side
of her bed before a nap.
It is strange how long one can remember, how details
hidden come to the forefront in Riyadh,
long distance sisterhood and her swollen ankles
aching from the flight. It matters because I never knew.

VII

Just a piece of metal, a broken one now
but you are okay, you are okay
he said. Driving isn't
always easy on Laundry Hill but you are okay.
The new brougham crushed from fender to rear.
It was all a daughter ever wanted to hear,
caught me a little off guard. Mom advised:

You've got to tell your father, not me.
It'll be good for the both of you.

I think it was our only conversation
because he saved up the rest of his talk
for that poem to get him into heaven,
it was the only time he ever openly

acknowledged the Almighty.
He had that kind of self confidence you get

from fighting in a war, a monotheist of sorts
who knew the value of keeping quiet.

VIII

We were in the lumber yard,
I was holding a grape Nehi,
while Red added up the total
for two by fours and four by fours.
We tooled around town like that for a couple years
when he was sober and preparing to die.
Just a pause he was taking between drinks,
about five years of dry wall and fixing the electric,
balancing on ladders, picking stucco out of my eye.

He took me everywhere to wait at counters,
fidget and just sit in the front seat.
He'd take a hit of oxygen between corners.
Sometimes I held a hammer or a jar of nails
taken from the washroom.

Then it all changed. He made
one last stand, hero no more.

My father decided to drink himself to death
instead of shoot the bastard
and he did. May 23 to May 23
but they got it backwards at the printers:

born 1983 - died 1914

IX
His poem is somewhere else,
yellowed; out of date; with apologies.
I keep writing it longer, farther.

Hezbollah leads another Divine Victory against Israel without firing a single rocket into Israeli territory. How is it that can happen? And to make matters worse, after Hezbollah seizes control of Beirut, it does something that no other "militia" (if that's what you call an army fighting in the way of Allah) in any country has ever done before....they return control over to the Lebanese Army and as is always the case, Hezbollah dissolves into the nooks and crannies of their own country, their jobs and families and their religious purpose which is real actual bona fide PEACE. Bush then makes an ass of himself once again and offers to send US support to the Lebanese Army? Hahaha...okay pal. Go ahead. What a buffoon. I always knew he was a buffoon and actually, am quite excited to know that Allah DID choose him to be president...as he is oft quoted saying. Sure enough....Allah did choose Bush and no doubt, Allah will place the next US president into office as well.

Read: http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=9006

According to US Senate Intelligence Committee sources, the Bush administration initially green lighted the intended May 11 Israel 'demonstration of solidarity with the pro-Bush administration militias, some with which Israel has maintained ties since the days of Bashir Gemayal and Ariel Sharon.

In the end, 'the Bush administration got cold feet', a Congressional source revealed. So did Israel.
Israel was not willing to proceed with the original Bush Administration idea which was to have Bush attend the May 15 Israel anniversary celebrations following the Israeli attack meant to hit Hezbollah hard, and give Bush the credit for coming to the dangerous region. The message was to be that Bush comes to the rescue 'on horseback and leads the US Calvary charge straight out of a B western movie where the bugle would sound and flag would be unfurled and the white hat good guys would show their stuff before riding into the sunset and back to Texas, leaving the results to the likely Obama administration to sort out.

The plan involved Israeli air strikes on South and West Beirut in support of forces it was assured would be able to surprise and resist Hezbollah and sustain a powerful offensive for 48 hours.

Also presumably disturbing to Israel was the report it received that Hezbollah had once again in all probability hacked its 'secure' military intelligence communications and the fear that the information would be shared with others.

The Trembling of Ropes Inside of Wells

This selfish little spot called
our prayers and ablutions
is filled with noises in the morn
and the darkness within the night.
The spider and the gnat
are signs to those who know,
the bee and the ant
are signs to those who know,
the sun and the moon
are signs to those who know.
But who are they?
Ali ibn Abi Taleb, Trustee of the prophet Mohamed and Gate to the knowledge of Islam said:

About those who sit for dispensation of justice among people but are not fit for it.

"Among(1) all the people the most detested before Allah are two persons. One is he who is devoted to his self. So he is deviated from the true path and loves speaking about (foul) innovations and inviting towards wrong path. He is therefore a nuisance for those who are enamoured of him, is himself misled from the guidance of those preceding him, misleads those who follow him in his life or after his death, carries the weight of others' sins and is entangled in his own misdeeds.

The other man is he who has picked up ignorance. He moves among the ignorant, is senseless in the thick of mischief and is blind to the advantages of peace. Those resembling like men have named him scholar but he is not so. He goes out early morning to collect things whose deficiency is better than plenty, till when he has quenched his thirst from polluted water and acquired meaningless things.

He sits among the people as a judge responsible for solving whatever is confusing to the others. If an ambiguous problem is presented before him he manages shabby argument about it of his own accord and passes judgement on its basis. In this way he is entangled in the confusion of doubts as in the spider's web, not knowing whether he was right or wrong. If he is right he fears lest he erred, while if he is wrong he hopes he is right. He is ignorant, wandering astray in ignorance and riding on carriages aimlessly moving in darkness. He did not try to find reality of knowledge. He scatters the traditions as the wind scatters the dry leaves.

By Allah, he is not capable of solving the problems that come to him nor is fit for the position assigned to him. Whatever he does not know he does not regard it worth knowing. He does not realise that what is beyond his reach is within the reach of others. If anything is not clear to him he keeps quiet over it because he knows his own ignorance. Lost lives are crying against his unjust verdicts, and properties (that have been wrongly disposed of) are grumbling against him.

I complain to Allah about persons who live ignorant and die misguided. For them nothing is more worthless than Qur'an if it is recited as it should be recited, nor anything more valuable than the Qur'an if its verses are removed from their places, nor anything more vicious than virtue nor more virtuous than vice."

May Allah be pleased with them both.

Sully's Bucket

I've a thing or two to tell ya pard that I think you ought to know,
About that rusty bucket Sully carries down below.
You're not the first one, stranger, who laughed at Sully's pail.
You're the only one who's laughing now, the rest have heard the tale.

When we were young and handsome, had some ten years in the game,
Old Sull he had a partner, and Jim Riley was his name....
The four of us together, we were working side by side.
That's how come I chanced to be there on the night Jim Riley died.

Well the blasting had been easy, it was running out like sand.
An we were mucking out the ore; those days we mucked by hand.
And we were nearly finished, and I hadn't heard a sound.
But something must have happened, "Cause Jim Riley yelled "bad ground."

When we headed for the timberin', Sully must of took a spill
‘Cause when we looked back in there he was pinned beneath his drill.
The ceiling it was groanin' now, all set to drop its lid.
And Sully pinned beneath his drill was sobbin' like a kid.

Now there's men can watch their partners die, not throw their lives away.
But Riley wasn't one of them, he wasn't built that way.
As soon's he seen what happened, "Hey, hold on there Sull," he cried.
And before he had the words out, he'd thrown the drill aside.

Well, they headed ‘round the ore car, Riley wearing a big grin.
Guess he never knew what happened when the hanging wall came in.
Sully reached the timberin', his face as white as chalk.
And Riley, four yards back of him, caught fifteen ton of rock.

That day Sully's pail was buried, he ate from Riley's pail in tears.
And he's carried that same bucket now for almost twenty years.
So you can laugh at Sully, because he's mean and drinks a lot.
But don't laugh at Sully's bucket, it's the only friend he's got.
