 Company Town

I suppose you could say it was just any old town, not very big but not too small either. Having travelled a few times away from this place, I'd come to know that they all have names for such towns some derogatory some flattering.  Pueblo and Dthaya, two of my favorites and most familiar. Places where people have taken on certain roles as if in a play, some as if by accident or by virtue of their nature and a few of them with the ambition to develop their role as if they had a plan.  Some with a plan. This one a Shaman, this one a poet and by and large, most of them just ordinary, unaware folks. Clearly some of them arrived as if to carry out a plan against the unsuspecting residents to gain whatever they'd set their sights on: money, status, property.  Most of all, they seek relevance in a world where relevance is more difficult to achieve honestly, nearly impossible yet at the touch of a button, a person becomes relevant for merely wearing the right pants or smearing on a particular shade of makeup and taking a picture of themself. Imagine!  A picture of oneself and sometimes dozens.  A day.

There is a healthy contingent of historians in this particular town, all of them vying for the right hand side of God. Perpetuating a sense of the truth as if it were uncommon for ordinary people to have developed their own thoughts on the matter, owning their rights to interpretation and timelines.
