What exactly is a ceasefire?

A ceasefire is alot of things. One thing it is not is an agreement to disarm either side in a conflict.

For whatever reason however, news agencies do not inform readers of this salient detail and insist on promoting an ideology that is not only false but leads people to believe that certain parties in armed conflicts have less rights than others to defend themselves. Usually....the Arab parties whereas Israel can do whatever Israel wants as long as it is meant to kill Arabs. Go figure:

"Ban said there has been no progress the disarmament of Hezbollah and other militias, although he sees this as essential to fully restoring government authority throughout the country. The current political crisis in Lebanon has hindered efforts to implement the resolution."

I'll tell you what is essential in my estimation. Remove the cause for the need for civilians to arm themself against an oppressor and there will be no more need for disarmament. That cause is US backing for the fascist state known as Israel and let the natural course for this disruption in world peace to ensue.
