The Discharge

Alright so tomorrow
the plan is capillary
refill, premixed solutions,
answers and denials.
We spoke briefly on the phone
today, left on Patagonia,
hard to bring
it home without
tubes and wires, the bright
lights and clean
dressings, lost socks.
Up and down the halls,
back and forth the elevators,
in and out so many
electronic doors,
might be false morning
but soon we'll know
how long the night
really is, we might
just turn black watching.
