The Wondrous Magico
In the capital of words and deed,
most things never really happen
and those that do remind us
of the reasons for keeping safe,
wealth and walking dogs.
This old fact evaporates
once the war is fought
and supposedly won,
as planned.
This joyous joke they play
wrecks the best laid plans
like clockwork.
Dreadful poses painted
on the triage of life
and death innuendo,
a pleasant compromise
for the real thing
as it fiddles and burns,
fiddles and burns.
They shake the snakes
from bags and wave those
crooked old sticks
past all our pleased
and dumbstruck faces.
They say like this:
and and and and and.
Voila! Lo! Behold!
