This is a quite common situation in the land now known "Israel": the israelis started referring to ancient structures, the temple of Solomon, or Abraham's, methusulah, Issac's fort, etc--when in fact many of them were constructed by greeks and romans (as columns and other architectural features indicate). Tho' I must say at times muslims have been guilty of similar acts--as in Western Turkey ("Antioch"), much of which was Greek and Roman from ancient times--many places have been damaged or destroyed .
(Silliman seems rather cozy with the likes of Kirby Olson, does he not? He publishes less than half of my comments, and yet has no problem regularly posting Olson's wingnut, rightist Foxnews drivel )
