The Petty Analysis of the Infinite

I am not fine.
We are not fine.
The world is at war.
I always knew it would turn out that way.
Bound to happen you know
as were so many things
but no one believed me.
Some thought I wanted
to invent myself.

When I was a child
I knew I was different.
I knew I had certain abilities
but didn't know how
they would come about.
Schopenhauer at ten, who cares.

I knew myself. And this,
we only believe what
we know to be true.
The angels that visited
said only that they were
following him.
There was no elaboration.

When I was finally cured of my "desire" for intoxication (and in this world, it is truly a disabling thing and apparently, a widespread means of keeping people weak) I knew that the cure wasn't complete.

I told my witness exactly that and sure enough, something very unusual happened "as if by magic" that demonstrated a path through which resolution could occur.

He used to say, my husband that is, that he wanted "peace".

I immediately said, "There is no peace without resolution." That is, accountability.

Men who desire peace without resolution are not only going to fail but they will suffer as much as their partners suffer. Goes for women as well. All souls being equal.

Peace in the purest sense of the word is the peace of holding both "hope" and "fear" in equal measure. Not one more than the other.

Those are the two seas that surround purgatory. And there are two doors out. One is surrounded with pretty things and Las Vegas lighting. The other door, where I stand (sometimes sit, lie down and cry by) is hoary indeed. But it is, the right door out of this dome. It does not pay to discourage others from finding it.
In fact, it is one of the worst crimes a person who understands the gravity of the situation of the soul, could commit.

We aren't talking phoney Catholicism here. We are talking Islam and the notion that some can read the Quran and gather the pearls from the deepest of seas and then, there are the others who are "like children collecting sea shells from the shore"....to quote the idea of the "diver".

The diver is most oft mentioned in relationship to Islamic scholarship and well, the seas are of two kinds:

Hope and Fear. Both, equally life threatening and no boat will help you should you fall into either one.

Furthermore, the protection of less than significant minds is exactly the type of misogynism that hurts women the most.

Yes, less than significant and perhaps, malignantly inclined towards petty jealousies which were evident throughout so much of "it".

Blindness to such things is understandable.

Most importantly, the risk of a woman professing a "political" stance as opposed to merely a "sacred" one is topsy turvy to many a man.

But you see, those traits are given, by definition, by the Creator by WHIM.

It doesn't belong to me and in fact, miracles do not "belong" to prophets (per Quran). They occurred "with the permission of" and this denotes a fine line between Chosen and Not So Chosen.

Some are, not so chosen it seems and those who are so chosen, risk so much in this "profession" which pretends to be "apolitical" and nerve wrackingly "moral".

What then, is the meaning of a soul?

Can a poet write without one? Well, flarfists might say that it is unnecessary but then again, they do not consider it as anything other than an "annoyance" much like some philosophies consider various aspects of human behavior as nuisances.

The Hindu/Buddhist tradition, if you will note, is the Judeo/Christian mirror of the east.

It is a blend.

And it subjugates the have nots and the Chosen into various sects....all well meaning of course and unfortunately, a very good reflection of the Western Theologies.

Doesn't mean that they weren't inspired but what is evident to me at least, is that they are a blend and the boundaries have been clouded over the centuries and the books have changed according to the times..just like the Judeo/Christian. Sure, there are some truths within each of them and then, there is the Quran.

The Quran states point blank that it "confirms" what is already present in terms of the "liturgies" and then goes on to add a few things.

Like the case of Mary in the Temple.

What is said about that? Unclear.

It almost appears that the Holy Men were vying for her affections and when Zachariah took control of her situation, he found her to be well fed by the angels and then, gasp, pregnant.

She needed an excuse and therefore, the baby spoke from the cradle. I mean, well....it was necessary for proof to exist seeing as how she was such a vyed for entity.

Then she was hounded until her death by those who had some dirty ideas about things. Who wanted to "adopt" a thing such as a prophet.

In fact, I heard on a Christian broadcast today that "Joseph adopted Jesu".

Holy Cow. Now if that doesn't just frost a cake.

Orphans and the notion of Orphanism in the Quran is of mightly huge importance. I guess, that is the next trek I am on in the scholarship of Islam.

Why Orphans? There are passages relating to Kadr and another in which the wall of the orphans is rebuilt. The prophet (?Moses or Abraham, I forget) risks the ridicule of Allah when he questions Kadr about the reasons for rebuilding the wall without demanding payment for it.

Big question and one that might take more than a few days to figure out.

A great puzzle the Quran. A never ending journey that is not only interesting but downright mesmerizing.

From the Sura called The Family of Imran:

The true religion with God is Islam: and they to whom the Scriptures had been given, differed not till after "the knowledge"[1003] had come to them, and through mutual jealousy. But as for him who shall not believe in the signs of God—God will be prompt to reckon with him!

...it goes on to say:

Verily above all human beings did God choose Adam, and Noah, and the family of Abraham, and the family of IMRAN, the one the posterity of the other: And God Heareth, Knoweth.

Remember when the wife of Imran[1006] said, "O my Lord! I vow to thee what is in my womb, for thy special service. Accept it from me, for thou Hearest, Knowest!" And when she had given birth to it, she said, "O my Lord! Verily I have brought forth a female,"—God knew what she had brought forth; a male is not as a female[1007] —"and I have named her Mary, and I take refuge with thee for her and for her offspring, from Satan the stoned."[1008]

In other words, Mary was from the family of Adam, not Joseph. That is why there is this urge on the part of such TV personalities to declare suddenly that Joseph "adopted" Jesu.

And then Zacariah produces Yehye, or "John".

But some of them differed as to the "progeny" of such a holy person (Marium) and it says:

This is one of the announcements of things unseen by thee: To thee, O Muhammad! do we reveal it; for thou wast not with them when they cast lots with reeds[1015] which of them should rear Mary; nor wast thou with them when they disputed about it.

...back to disputes and lineages. And to the last prophet is given certain information not available anymore in the ordinary texts.

This "casting of lots" is nothing less than something that needs to be compared to "democratic councils" versus the Will of the Creator.

That is where the chase began and I once visited the mountaintop in Turkey (nearly inaccessible prior to roads) where Marium is said to have died.

Da Vinci Code....well...the Quran has way more mystery than some foolishness about the Holy Grail.

It literally is a geneology and hence, the Divine Right to perform the duties of Imamship to the unified world as opposed to the Divine Right invented by the European masters who no doubt, benefited a great deal from the sciences of the Mohamedans.

....
As for those[1022] who dispute with thee about Him, after "theknowledge" hath come to thee, SAY: Come,[1023] let us summon our sons and your sons, our wives and your wives, and ourselves and yourselves. Then will we invoke and lay the malison of God on those that lie!

Yes indeed. It is the time of summoning one's geneologies.

Did Bush have a complete understanding of that Pandora's Box? Well, no, obviously he thought it was about Utopia and Christian Crusades that continue to fight to usurp the actual communications of the Creator.

....

O people of the Book! Why dispute about Abraham,[1025] when the Law and the Evangel were not sent down till after him? Do ye not then understand?

Er, could one say that Allah is antisemitic? Hmm. Well then, explain where the muslims came from in the first place eh? Mostly pagans but a significant portion of Jews as well. Some Saudis in fact, trace their hebrew roots to this day.

And of course, the Ahlul Bayt i.e. the Shi'i literally descend from the only child of the prophet, a girl (like Miriam, pbuh) and the sons born to her via the man who is compared as the "Aaron to Moses" in relationship to Mohamed (SAW)

further down...

It beseemeth not a man, that God should give him the Scriptures and the Wisdom, and the gift of prophecy, and that then he should say to his followers, "Be ye worshippers of me, as well as of God;"[1028] but rather, "Be ye perfect in things pertaining to God, since ye know the Scriptures, and have studied deep."

God doth not command you to take the angels or the prophets as lords.[1029] What! would he command you to become infidels after ye have been Muslims?
(I mean come on now, this is obvious but because of the "brainwashing" most cannot see the evidence of silliness in suggesting that Allah appointed "another deity" instead of er..."himself" for lack of a better pronoun for the Creator).

...

O ye believers! fear God as He deserveth to be feared! and die not till ye have become Muslims.

And hold ye fast by the cord[1033] of God, all of you, and break not loose from it; and remember God's goodness towards you, how that when ye were enemies, He united your hearts, and by his favour ye became brethren;

And when ye were on the brink of the pit of fire, he drew you back from it. Thus God clearly sheweth you his signs that ye may be guided;

And that there may be among you a people who invite to the Good, and enjoin the Just, and forbid the Wrong. These are they with whom it shall be well.

...See now! ye love them, but they love not you. Ye believe the entire Book. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe;" but when they are apart, they bite their fingers' ends at you, out of wrath. SAY: "Die in your wrath!" God truly knoweth the very recesses of your breasts.

Ye shall assuredly be tried in your possessions and in yourselves. And many hurtful things shall ye assuredly hear from those to whom the Scriptures were given before you, and from those who join other gods with God. But if ye be steadfast, and fear God this verily is needed in the affairs of life.

And you see, people can't just "make stuff up" as they go along.

That is not only risky but misleading.

In order to do what?...well...I suppose in order to feel "superior" to others in light of a dreadful inferiority complex.

And we are all guilty of that sometimes.

O ! I know nothing of these elegies of intelligence pouring forth from your wrath and benign heart, but am overpowered by the brilliance of your light. Each line you write quivering with its truths , and each matching rhythm crashing past the weak eared reader.

Your words purge the lie of intoxicating orgasm makers!

Carmenisacat said...

Hmm.

I hope not all readers are weak eared as you say.

This is actually a poem of therapeutic value aimed at a person who read Shopenhauer as a young boy. :)

I don't know much about Shopenhauer other than to say he had a great name.

What I do remember about him is that Joe Campbell spoke highly of him and often quoted the part about life looking like a novel when you see it in retrospect. As if all the details were 'made to order'.

Hmm.

And that little bit upstairs is just for you my friend.

Such rages you know are unseemly in times like these but even the dental hygeinist was talking to me about the Tribulations. She is such a careful hygeinist. Nice girl too.

I like people like that regardless of what they base their knowledges on.

At least, you can trust them.

Carmenisacat said...

Not you again.

I wish you'd make up your mind you know.

Any relation to the other poster, may I ask?

I am still waiting for your story about your Turkish background.

Should be interesting.

The intoxication of Islam is, as you say, a wonderful elixir.

I mean, if I had to go through what I've been through AND had to battle the illegal forms of intoxication, then imagine how that would look!

I'd rather not. Thanks for posting though and I'll make sure to seek your advice next time I have a problem.

Has it ever occurred to you that the US has become a "teetotalar" of tobacco products? What gives?

Um, alcohol and drug abuse cause FAR more problems, both mental and physical than tobacco.

I'll tell you what though....the state benefits from addiction in two ways: marketing of products which in turn, keep people confused.

And there aren't TWO kinds of people: those who can handle the stuff and those who can't.

That is exactly the problem with programs that treat "addicts" and surprisingly, the CDC is focusing studies on how Islam is so successful in treating so called "addicts" who otherwise, under the current auspices of things like AA, end up feeling like 'special cases' and corrupt individuals. They are not. No one who succumbs to drug and alcohol abuse is "special" but perhaps they are more sensitive to the labeling society does. Particulary women.

What is obvious in your post however is that you fail to be happy for someone who has actually been freed from the mind numbing and reason incapacitating effects of chemicals.

That means, you are not a friend and do not wish well for a friend.

And sometimes, people like you need to be told that. So that you don't continue "helping" people in this most unhelpful way.

But I'm still looking forward to those old tales of Istanbul!

Carmenisacat said...

But let me clarify, in case I missed the point:

You advise I should return to chemical abuse and forego religion, then, try something else better than what obviously worked?

Man, why didn't I think of that.

Not.

Funny how people who are actively involved in substance abuse give some of the worst advice and more curious still is the fact that people suffer the myth that the "cured" try to cure everyone else.

Tell that to the Surgeon General regarding smoking k?

And while you are at it, ask when the government noticed that smoking just costs the state and offers no "benefits" to the state which allow people to be confused and heartbroken, destitute and etc....stuff that generally speaking, keeps people from voting, running in elections, reading hard core political articles and theory and sheesh, the Quran.

You see, smoking became a burden to the state. Alcohol is an even bigger burden...homelessness, divorce, child abuse, drunk driving, etc. So what's up with the smoking? Is it that smoking doesn't confuse people AND it costs the state and the lobbiests lots of money in lawsuits?

When will people who have been brainwashed to accept alcohol as "part of life" start suing?

And hey...what's this I hear? You mean, a non smoker gets discounts on car insurance? But a non drinker is offered nothing of the kind?

Well. Hmm. Seems, Houston, the STATE has an agenda. And those that enjoy smoking and/or drinking are loathe to quit. Without a little pressure. No one though cares enough about this society to pressure and if you do...well...then you are one of those mysterious and mythological creatures who, when cured, tries to cure everyone else.

Not. I'm just logical my, er, "friend".

Try it. You might like the feeling. It is, intoxicating.

Carmenisacat said...

May your god speed you there.

?My God?

Oh, I see. You are one of those that thinks because it was an ARAB prophet then it is an ARAB God.

No...that is the other folks. All sorts of sects have claimed their prophets were God including both Judaism and Christianity. You may or may not be aware of this (most Jews are unaware of this even but it is in the literature) that they called Uzair (Ezra)...Godlike.

Big boo boo. And there you go...the result is, people like yerself are inclined to assign things to your god/my god, etc.

And, I think that is just CRAZY coming from a person from that crazy joint called Turkey, the seat of the Ottoman empire.

You musta had it real hard there.

They must have hated you for going around saying ignorant stuff like that.

Good luck though in your preoccupation with my blog. I need all the readers I can get. I'm trying to hit 5,000 hits by next week. Not really hard you know and hey, if even 1 percent of those stop back by...I'm doing good.

Because darling, I make sense and know it.

Carmenisacat said...

I am however glad that the prophet spoke Arabic and not Chinese.

Now that would have been a real problem for people with little experience in letters that served as pictures instead of the Arabic which serve as numbers.

Although God did paint the universe a nice shade of everything, the description of it tends to make more sense in physics when you use quantifiable symbols.

You know what they say, one man's ceiling is another man's floor but a zero is a rose in any other odor.

Carmenisacat said...

Well, defensiveness isn't really something you can counter an upbraiding like the one I've given you...with an addictional accusation of "defensiveness".

Defeats the point of your helpful or not so helpful advice.

It appears to me that you just don't want to write about Turkey and your facsinating life there and tend to deflect interest from that curious entry here about your very fine intentions for me.

Like I told another poet long ago:

I've got claws. Watch out. I tend to keep them hidden just like a cat but when I extend them, the scratches can last a lifetime.

And some have even developed cat scratch fever!

Bad cat.

Now, you run along and seek advice for your own chemical use and abuse.

I'd be lying if I didn't clue you in on the fact that I can see through steel.
