LONDON - In a report to be released Wednesday, Amnesty International accuses Israel of war crimes, saying it broke international law by deliberately destroying Lebanon's civilian infrastructure during its recent war with Hezbollah guerrillas.

The UN's children's fund, UNICEF, estimates that some 1,183 people died***, mostly civilians and about a third of them children, while the Lebanese Higher Relief Council says 4,054 people were injured and 970,000 displaced. UN officials reported that around 15,000 civilian homes were destroyed.

The Amnesty report cited "the widespread destruction of apartments, houses, electricity and water services, roads, bridges, factories and ports," which, taken with statements by Israeli officials, "suggests a policy of punishing both the Lebanese government and the civilian population in an effort to get them to turn against Hezbollah," it said. It accused Israel of applying an overly broad interpretation of what constituted a military objective when it attacked power plants, bridges, main roads, seaports and Beirut's international airport, all of which are "presumed to be civilian."

What can be said about Ha'retz is that it is a newspaper that tells it like it is. You have to give the Israeli journalists there credit for honesty, including the story they printed many years ago now about the 2 hour warning which was recieved prior to the WTC attack by Israelis. That story DID appear in Ha'retz and Amiri Baraka who cited this phenomenal warning given to Israelis (not Jews as was related in the popular media and on anti semitic hate sites) lost his position as the poet laureate of ?New Jersey (poor memory for states it seems save for that horrible place called Newark, awful city). Now, let it be known, Amiri Baraka didn't deserve Ron Silliman's heinous attack either nor did he deserve to be 'de-lauralized' for relating the TRUTH.

The truth hurts everyone sometimes. Now that the Islamic world has had to face the truth about Al Qaeda, it is time for EVERYONE to face the truth about so-called Israel and its so-called democracy and its abuse of religion which it utilizes to keep people from criticizing their heinous acts against muslims worldwide, in the media and for real as is the case with the Israeli destruction of an ENTIRE COUNTRY.

Right to exist? Who asks? Lets see...when a person has a right and abuses it, what happens next to any given individual? They lose that right. They go to jail.

Food for thought regarding this current cease fire in Lebanon...they are up to their old tricks again and EVERYONE is watching this time, ESPECIALLY the freedom fighters of Lebanon who managed to nab a few "commandos" in the Beka dressed up nicely as Lebanese Army personnel. I'll bet few of you know that Ehud Barat, ex prime minister of Israel who was in charge when Lebanon was finally LIBERATED by HEZBOLLAH a few years back....dressed up as a woman in order to enter Lebanon and assassinate Yasser Arafat. I'll bet most didn't know that!
