Once upon a time on the Sillimania boards, a Turkish poet was discussed and I said to the silly posters there something they didn't quite comprehend. I said, in response to the excerpts from his book, that it is "clear" that that poet had not negotiated his Islamic contract with poetry yet.

There were many dazed looks. Those looks now reflect a kind of silence and it is now that a reminder is sent to them....I negotiated my contract.

Jihad is a misunderstood word. EVERYONE performs jihad when they speak the propaganda that we all speak or spread. All speech is personal propaganda. Jihad however is applied to muslims in particular and it is a much feared concept. If only people understood their own linguistic properties better.

A funny incident happened to me yesterday. I visited what will be my new home for a while to see if the real estate agent had started cleaning it up for me. I met the neighbor and he introduced me to his very loud Chow Pooch. We made small talk....he is a prison worker as so many are these days and in these parts. Obviously a Bush supporter as well because all prison workers in the US anymore work in some way or another for Dick Cheney and Halliburton which is engaged in the building of prisons and prison compounds. The conversation with my new neighbor "Bob" turned to the satellite dish and I asked him if it would be a good idea to get that service as opposed to simple cable and the usual AMERICAN cable broadcasts (which I'll tell you, from having lived overseas for so long, are horrendously one sided regardless of which channel you switch to).

Bob said, "Yeah, you can't get news. About the best thing you can get is FOX news."

Oh dear. Me and Bob. Good thing he has three dogs: Rottweiler, Police Mutt (retired) and Chow. And he added, "Everyone seems to hate Bush now."

Yes, indeed. Isn't it wonderful how things pan out in the end. Sadly enough, those that hate Bush hate him for all the wrong reasons and still do not know why they hate muslims so bad.
